Dr. Julie Blamires is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing at Auckland University of Technology with over 30 years of paediatric nursing experience across respiratory medicine, rheumatology, child protection, and general paediatrics. She holds a doctorate focused on the lived experience of young people with bronchiectasis, and her research spans child‑ and family‑centred care, chronic illness, and equity in health services. Julie leads AUT’s postgraduate child health programmes and teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, specialising in child health, advanced assessment, and diagnostic reasoning. She is also an active researcher and mentor, contributing to national and international child health initiatives.
