Julianna Pillemer

Julianna Pillemer is an Associate Professor of Management and Organizations at New York University Stern School of Business. She studies workplace relationships, authenticity, and creative work.

Professor Pillemer has published research in leading management and psychology journals, including Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, Organization Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Research in Organizational Behavior. Her work has also been featured in media outlets such as Time, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, Harvard Business Review and Sloan Management Review. She was named a Poets and Quants Best Undergraduate Business Professor in 2025.

Professor Pillemer received a BA in Psychology from Pomona College, and a PhD in Management from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Stern, she was a researcher at Harvard Business School and The Center for Creative Leadership.
