Juliana Tinoco Sampedro

My academic interests focus on how migration policies shape people’s real-life opportunities after arrival, especially in relation to work, recognition, belonging, and social integration.

Migration Policy | Labour Market Integration | Social Equity:

My current research explores the experiences of highly skilled immigrants in Quebec, particularly the gap between the expectations created before migration and the realities they face when trying to re-enter their original or related professions. I am especially interested in how credential recognition, employer practices, and institutional barriers affect migrants’ access to meaningful work.

Research, Dialogue, and Human Impact:

Through my academic and research experience, I have developed a strong interest in the intersection of migration, labour, policy, and social justice. I care deeply about connecting policy analysis with lived experiences and contributing to more equitable approaches to integration.
