I have been a clinical child psychologist and researcher since 1976 working with socially disadvantaged families with children with aggressive and/or disruptive behaviour.
I was awarded an OBE for my work in 2012
I have advised both Westminster and Welsh Governments
I am a member of the WHO Violence Prevention Alliance Parenting subgroup.
I am a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy
I have developed and evaluated parenting programmes for the last 40+ years
I have recently published two books with Routledge, one for practitioners and one for parents
In recent years through the WHO work I have worked overseas in South Africa, the Philippines and across Eastern Europe training and supporting staff in working with parents to reduce violence against children
I have contributed as a BPS spokesperson to many radio, TV and written news media including a recent new BBC World programme on parenting.
I have over the last 7 years added work in schools to ref=duce bullying
