I am a lecturer in the Department of Education, at the University of Bath. My research focuses on developing preventative safeguarding measures that empower children to speak about concerning situations and trust that adults will listen and support them. The aim is to contribute to the creation of educational approaches that equip young people with the knowledge and resources to resist exploitative and coercively controlling individuals and groups. A key aspect of my work is exploring the vital role that families and primary caregivers play in protecting children from grooming and manipulation.

Drawing on my background in the Primary Education Sector, I collaborate closely with schools to promote diversity, foster inclusion, and build safer communities where everyone feels a sense of belonging. I employ participatory, arts-based methodologies to amplify marginalised voices, ensuring they are heard and not overshadowed by dominant narratives. My approach is informed by posthumanist feminist praxis, which challenges hierarchical assumptions, and embraces relational, and embodied ways of knowing. This lens allows me to critically engage with power, voice, and agency in safeguarding contexts, particularly in how families, children and caregivers navigate complex social ecologies.
