Josie Carwardine

Dr Josie Carwardine is a Senior Research Scientist in CSIRO's Environment Research Unit, leading the Adapting for Nature team. Her teams research seeks to equip decision-makers with knowledge, capabilities and processes that improve the outcomes of decision making for nature and people. Dr Carwardine's expertise and interests include structuring problems and understanding challenges to understand important and inclusive elements of decision making, integrating biophysical and socio-economic information to achieve multiple outcomes, and including human values in conservation decision making. Dr Carwardine also works on understanding and increasing the value of nature for people, including biodiversity mainstreaming, nature-based solutions, enabling transitions to nature positive industries and futures.
