Joshua B. Miller is Professor of Economics at the University of Melbourne. His research lies at the intersection of behavioural and experimental economics, judgment and decision making, and statistical methods. He studies how people form beliefs and make decisions under uncertainty, and how subtle statistical issues can shape empirical conclusions. His work has examined topics including the hot hand in sports, forecasting and prediction markets, superstition, social risk and blame, and problems in probability and game theory. His research has appeared in journals including Econometrica, the Journal of Political Economy, the Review of Economics and Statistics, Management Science, and the Journal of Economic Perspectives, and has been covered by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, ESPN, and other media outlets.
