I am a Professor of Sustainable Tourism and Heritage, School of Social Sciences, and Associate Dean - International, Western Sydney University.
I was previously Professor in Sustainable Tourism at Center for Tourism Research, Wakayama University, Japan. I am also Adjunct Professor, AUT New Zealand and Visiting Professor, UCSI Malaysia.
I am Co Editor-in-Chief of the leading scientific journal Tourism Geographies by Taylor & Francis.
Additionally, I am Co-Chair of World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Future Council on the Future of Sustainable Tourism, and a board member of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), a board member: International Geographical Union (IGU) Commission on Tourism and Leisure and Global Change; Critical Tourism Studies Asia Pacific (CTSAP); Association of American Geographers Recreation, Tourism & Sport Group (AAG-RTG).
My research draws from trans disciplinary perspectives especially human geography, cultural anthropology and political economy, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. For more, see links below.
