Josef Hanekom is a clinical small animal veterinarian with more than 15 years experience. He has worked and run practices and worked in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Tanzania and Grenada. He completed his MSc in Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health through the Royal Veterinary College, Univerisity of London in 2015 and started his academic career in 2016 at the University of Pretoria, Faculty of Veterinary Science, South Africa. He completed his PhD examining the clinical and epidemiological investigations of Orbivirus infections in domestic dogs. His interests lie in the epidemiology of companion animals disease and conditions, cross-species infections and Orbiviruses.
