Jorgo is a vertebrate paleontologist specializing in crocodylomorph evolution, with a record of independent, innovative research advancing anatomy, taxonomy, and phylogenetics. Jorgo leads projects combining museum collections with advanced digital methods (3D scanning, CT and micro-CT segmentation, virtual modelling, 3D printing), producing high-impact first-author publications. Recognized for research leadership, mentorship, editorial roles, and science communication, Jorgo's work is highlighted by competitive awards and international media coverage. Jorgo holds an undergraduate degree in archaeology, a master's degree in vertebrate paleontology (obtained at the University of Southampton in Southampton, United Kingdom), and a PhD in paleontology (obtained at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia).
