Jorge Quesada Velazco

I earned my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in the fall of 2024 and have since worked as a postdoctoral researcher for the University of St. Gallen.

My work focuses on the economic and political consequences of elite networks in the United States and internationally.

I am on the U.S. team building the World Elite Database (WED), a new large-scale project tracking the social class origins, demographics, and overlapping affiliations of elites worldwide.

I am also part of an interdisciplinary research team at UMass Amherst investigating corporate responses to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement .
