Jordan Wehrman

Jordan has a doctorate in cognitive sciences, where we studied how we perceive the passage of time. He currently works on the neural correlates of consciousness primarily, however he has various interests, including the cognitive impacts of surveillance, what happens when our minds wander, and what happens in the brains of fighters. This last topic has special importance to Jordan, as he was a professional Muay Thai fighter for a decade when he was younger.

Jordan currently works at Macquarie University as a lecturer and at University of Sydney as a postdoctoral researcher. He obtained his PhD from Macquarie University, where he also did a masters of speech pathology. His undergraduate work was completed at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, where he majored in linguistics, finance, Japanese and international business. He has recently also completed post graduate work on modern monetary theory and sustainability.

Jordan primarily uses behavioural methods in his research, however also has extensive experience with neurostimulation methods and electroencephalography (EEG). He is currently running experiments using functional near-infrared spectroscopy and transcranial doppler as well.
