Ongoing research: Celiac disease, Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), but also other gastroenterology. I am the coordinator of one of the world's largest gastrointestinal cohort studies: ESPRESSO (Epidemiology Strengthened by histoPathology Reports in Sweden), where we study various liver diseases, IBS, microscopic colitis, colorectal cancer, and celiac disease etc. I also do pediatric research, and have written numerous papers on Swedish National Health Registers.
Ludvigsson regularly reviews literature in Swedish press and proclaimed LeClezio’s ”The African” a classic, two years before the author was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature. Ludvigsson lives in a small village, between Örebro and Karlskoga in Sweden.
