I am Professor of Geology at the University of Aberdeen, after degrees at Cambridge (BA Natural Sciences) and Imperial College London (PhD Geology) and an academic post in Queen's Belfast. My research is based on natural organic matter, covering Petroleum Geology to Life on Mars. I have supervised nearly 50 students to PhD level, and published nearly 400 papers.
