I am a researcher and teacher based in Prague, where my group explores how climate, tectonics and life transform Earth's surface through time.

Following on from research positions at universities in Wollongong, Glasgow, Stockholm, Potsdam and Aarhus, I joined the Academy of Sciences Institute of Geophysics in 2019 where I lead the Surface Processes and Palaeoclimate group. Other current positions include Distinguished Visiting Professor at the State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention (China) and associate editor with the Bulletin of the Geological Society of America.

I have published >100 peer-reviewed scientific articles cited in total >6000 times. All my publications can be accessed freely at https://johnjansen1.blogspot.com
