John Houghton

(He/Him/His)

John Houghton is a Vascular Surgery Specialist Trainee in the East Midlands and holds an NIHR Academic Clinical Lectureship at the University of Leicester. He graduated from the University of Bristol (MBChB) in 2011 and undertook his Foundation Programme and Core Surgical training in Severn Deanery. He was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2014 and his National Training Number in Vascular Surgery (Health Education East Midlands) in 2016. He was awarded his MD from the University of Leicester in 2022 for his thesis titled "Frailty, cognitive impairment and chronic limb-threatening ischaemia". His research interests include frailty, cognitive impairment and shared decision-making in patients with peripheral artery disease.
