Associate Professor Jocelyn Jones is a highly qualified Noongar epidemiologist with more than two decades of experience in Aboriginal public health and health services research. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Western Australia, where her research examined pathways into juvenile justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, as well as a Master of Applied Epidemiology from the Australian National University, underpinned by earlier qualifications in sociology, paediatrics and nursing. Her career spans senior research and leadership roles across universities, government, and Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, where she has led major national research programs, supervised postgraduate scholars, contributed to high-impact publications, and shaped policy through expert advisory roles. A/Prof Jones is recognised for her expertise in mixed-methods research, her commitment to culturally safe and community-driven methodologies, and her strong record of translating evidence into policy and practice to improve health and justice outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
