Dr Joanne Mutter is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour at the University of Auckland, Waipapa Taumata Rau. Her research explores the intersection of careers, work and family, with particular expertise in dual-career couples, hybrid and flexible working, global mobility, and career equality. Her broader research agenda focuses on understanding and advancing women's careers across different life and career stages, with a particular interest in how organisational practices shape career opportunities and outcomes. Joanne's work has been published in leading journals including the International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Global Mobility, Personnel Review, and Labour & Industry, and she has co-edited the Research Handbook of Global Families. Her current research examines the changing nature of flexible working in Aotearoa New Zealand and how employees, families and organisations can create more equitable and sustainable ways of working
