Dr. Liu is a paediatric emergency physician and professor at McGill’s University, director of Pandemic & Emergency readiness lab (PERL), where she focuses on polycrisis and health emergencies. Priorly, she was the International President of Médecins Sans Frontières from 2013-2019. During her tenure, she spearheaded the emergency responses to humanitarian and health emergencies including Ebola outbreak in 2014-2016 and the denouncement on the attacks on hospitals leading to the UNSC resolution 2286 on the Protection of the Medical Mission in conflict zones. She practices medical humanitarian diplomacy in conflict zones and medical emergency. She is currently the chair of Humanitarian Dialogue.
