Dr Joanne Egan started working at Edge Hill University in 2015 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2018. Joanne completed her PhD at The University of Manchester in 2016 entitled "Impact and significance of tephra deposition from Mount Mazama and Holocene climate variability in the Pacific Northwest USA". Previous to that, Joanne completed a Masters in Environmental Monitoring, Modelling and Reconstruction in 2012 and gained a 1st class BSc (hons) Geography in 2010 from the University of Manchester.
Joanne has research interests in climate and environmental change, in particular looking at impacts of natural hazards using palaeoecological techniques. Joanne is interested in how climate is influencing their frequency and/or magnitude.
