- Teaching Fellow in Zoology and Ecology, University of Reading
I am a zoologist specialising in behavioural ecology, wildlife conservation and invasive species research.
After completing my undergraduate degree at Jacobs University Bremen and Rice University in Houston, I pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford. As part of my MSc, I developed methods for assessing relative densities of South African canids, particularly jackals and foxes. My doctorate, obtained from Oxford's Wildlife Conservation Research Unit, focused on the behavioural ecology of the invasive American mink in the UK.
Following a brief episode of working for a start-up company, I moved back to academia to take on the post of Lecturer in Wildlife Conservation at Nottingham Trent University. I currently split my time between Reading University's School of Biological Sciences, where I work as a Teaching Fellow, and Oxford University's Department of Paediatrics, where I am a Communications and Public Engagement Officer.
