Joanna Cheek

Joanna Cheek, M.D., F.R.C.P.C, is a Victoria psychiatrist who works to change the healthcare system, creating innovative programs to transform the way we deliver mental healthcare services. She is a Clinical Professor and award-winning teacher at the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine. She explores mental health as rooted in complex social factors, hoping to decrease the stigma that is so often misplaced on the individuals who suffer rather than the ailing society around them.
