Joan Combellick

I am a clinically experienced certified nurse midwife with privileges at Yale New Haven Hospital in CT and Norther Dutchess Hospital in NY. I currently lead maternal outcomes review at Veterans Health Administration and work as an assistant professor at Yale School of Nursing. My research focuses on maternal outcomes, perinatal mental health, and high quality maternity care.

I hold a master's degree in nursing/midwifery from Yale University, a master's in global public health from New York University, and a PhD in Nursing from New York University. I completed the post doctoral Advanced Women's Health Fellowship at Veterans Health Administration. I am a Fellow of the American College of Nurse Midwives and a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine.
