Jingyi Li is a Research Associate at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. She graduated as a chemical engineer from The University of Manchester and pursued her PhD at the Tyndall Centre. Her PhD research focuses on applying a circular economy framework in life cycle sustainability assessment, specifically assessing geothermal energy. She explores the sustainability performance of repurposing legacy fossil fuel infrastructure for geothermal energy utilisation. Her current research expands to a broader scope of geothermal energy utilisation, incorporating social sustainability, particularly from a just transition perspective, to develop frameworks for the transformation of fossil fuel industries by integrating low-carbon energy technologies.
