Jing Xu (Jean) is a social scientist deeply concerned with the wellbeing of various construction project stakeholders, including construction workers, local communities and residents. Her research focuses on the management of construction firms and their people, including occupational health, safety and wellbeing, ethics of care, trust and relationship management.

Jean joined University College London (UCL) in 2020 and has been an Associate Professor in Enterprise Management since 2023. Before this she was a Research Associate at the University of Manchester.

She completed her PhD at UCL in 2019. Her doctoral thesis investigates how trust dynamically develops and creates value in construction projects.

Jean has led and participated in international and cross-disciplinary research projects funded by UKRI, ESRC, Association for Project Management, UCL Grand Challenges and Lloyds Register Foundation.
