Jieyu Liu

Jieyu Liu is Professor of Sociology and China Studies, SOAS University of London. Her research interests include gender, sexuality, family and generation in China. She is the author of Gender and Work in Urban China: Women Workers of the Unlucky Generation (Routledge, 2007), Gender, Sexuality and Power in Chinese Companies: Beauties at Work (Palgrave, 2016), Embedded Generations: Family Life and Social Change in Contemporary China (Princeton University Press 2025) and joint editor-in-chief of The China Quarterly.
