- Lecturer and Researcher, Marine, Molecular and Microbial Ecology, Charles Sturt University
Jess is a marine molecular and microbial ecologist at Charles Sturt University (CSU) based in regional Australia on Birpai Country, Guruk (Port Macquarie) where she leads the AMMbER Lab (Aquatic Molecular & Microbial Ecology Research) to investigate the unseen drivers of aquatic health. Her work combines microbial ecology, molecular tools and citizen science to understand how environmental change alters host–microbe interactions, biodiversity shifts, pathogen dynamics and diseases across the freshwater–estuary–marine continuum, which ultimately informs on-ground conservation and management decisions.
