Jessica Newberry Le Vay

Jessica Newberry Le Vay is a Senior Researcher in Climate Change and Health in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford. She is a member of the Climate Cares Centre, a global initiative based at the University of Oxford and Imperial College London, working to understand and respond to the links between climate change, mental health and wellbeing.

Jessica's work focuses on generating and translating evidence to support policy and practice. She leads the Compass Project, which explores integrating climate change education with mental health and wellbeing to support young people to live, work and thrive in a changing climate. Other key projects include Connecting Climate Minds, a global dialogue process that convened 1200 people in 126 countries to inform priorities for research and action in climate and mental health. She led the Centre's engagement at the UN climate conference COP31, advocating for mental health inclusion in climate policy.

Prior to joining Oxford, Jessica was a Climate Change and Health Policy Fellow at Imperial College London with the Climate Cares Centre. Previously, Jessica led Cancer Research UK's policy research programme on cancer prevention.
