Jesse R. Harrington is a fifth-year doctoral student and National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow working with Michele Gelfand and studying social and organizational psychology with a focus on cross-cultural research at the University of Maryland, College Park.
His current research and collaborative projects investigate potential differences in norm strength and punishment for norm deviance (tightness-looseness) in the United States and how these differences correspond to various ecological predictors and societal outcomes, the influence of honor, dignity, and face orientation on individual error admission, the cross-level effects of organizational conflict cultures on individuals and work teams, and the development of grounded theory concerning perceptions of fate in the Middle East.
