Jerónimo Maillo González-Orús

Full Professor (Catedrático) of EU & International Public Law and International Relations at the Faculty of Law (CEU San Pablo University, Madrid) where he has been Director of the Department of Public Law fr more than 15 years. Senior Fellow at the University Institute of European Studies of the aforementioned university and Coordinator of its Center for Competition Policy and Market Regulation. Likewise, he is coordinator of the Master's Degree in the European Union and responsible for the research line on the European Union and International Relations in the CEINDO's Doctoral Program in Law and Economics.
Master's degree with honors in EU Law from the College of Europe (Bruges), Doctor of Law with honors (European Doctorate mention) at the CEU San Pablo University, with a 2-year stay at the European University Institute (Florence, Italy). Postdoctoral stays at EUI in Florence (2012, 3 months) and at Harvard Law School (Fulbright Visiting Scholar, 1 year, 2017-18)
The European Commission has awarded him the Jean Monnet Chair in Competition and Regulation ("Single Market & Competition Law in the Digital and Ecological Transition Era").
He is a specialist in EU Law and in issues of economic regulation of markets and Competition Law. He has participated in more than 16 research projects with public and / or private funding, including with the European Commission, the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, the European Parliament or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education. In multiple of them he has been the Main Researcher.
Appointed as an expert in various technical assistance projects of the European Commission, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other international organizations related to the preparation and application of competition law (Romania, Guatemala, Slovakia, Serbia, Mexico, Vietnam , Panama...).
He has been named NGA in the International Competition Network (ICN) Cartel Group and Merger Group. He has advised the Spanish Competition Authority (CNMC) on a project that it has led within the ICN (joint ventures). He has acted as member and secretary of the Board of Directors of the Academic Network for the Defense of Competition (RADC) and he is also a member of the Academic Society for Competition Law (ASCOLA). He is also a member of the Spanish Competition Association (AEDC) and, within its framework, participates in reports for public consultations on regulatory reforms. He is also a member of the Spanish Association of Spanish Association for European Law (AEDeur) and the Spanish Association of Professors of International Law and International Relations (AEPDIRI).
