I have been a professor at the University of Connecticut since 2003. I am also the co-director of the Crowd Counting Consortium, a joint project of UConn and the Harvard Kennedy School. I have held fellowships at Harvard, the University of Sydney, Norwegian Nobel Institute, and the UConn Humanities Institute. I have written three books, The Sword is Not Enough: Arabs, Israelis, and the Limits of Military Force (2020), Warring Friends (2008) and Point of No Return: The Deadly Struggle for Middle East Peace (1997; co-author).
