Jeremy Gibberd’s work explores how smarter, more sustainable and inclusive built environments can be developed. He has carried out a wide range of policy, research, training, guideline development and built environment projects for UNEP, ILO, UNICEF, UN-HABITAT, GEF, the EU, the World Bank, the Royal Academy of Engineering, One Planet Network, GIZ, DANIDA, USAID, DBSA, governments of Armenia, South Africa, Zambia and Sierra Leone, as well as for communities and the private sector.

Jeremy coordinates CIB’s Working Group (W116) on Smart and Sustainable Built Environments (SASBE) and is a board member of the GLOBE Consensus. He is on the editorial boards of the Smart and Sustainable Built Environment (SASBE), Building Research and Information (BRI) and Acta Structilia Journals. Dr Gibberd is a Professor at the University of Witwatersrand, Adjunct Professor at Nelson Mandela University, Chief Researcher at the CSIR and Principal at Gauge.
