- Research Fellow and Lecturer, Department of Physiology, University of Otago
I am a Research Fellow and Lecturer working within the Centre for Neuroendocrinology and Department of Physiology at the University of Otago. I began academic life as a Physical Education student, completing a BPhEd and MPhEd at Otago, before following my interests in understanding the brain into a PhD with Professor Allan Herbison at the University of Otago. I then completed a postdoc at UCLA in the USA, and returned to Otago to continue my work understanding the role of kisspeptin neurons in the control of reproduction. In the past few years I have been working on new projects investigating brain circuits controlling maternal behaviours, and brain circuits that drive the generation of menopausal hot flushes.
