- Postdoctoral Fellow, Northwestern University
Jen Whitman received her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia in 2013. Part of her work has involved cognitive psychology studies of how people judge hypotheses (https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-people-are-fooled-by-evidence/). Another aspect of her work has involved developing new techniques for analyzing functionally connected brain networks (https://www.nitrc.org/projects/fmricpca). This partly involves analyzing functional MRI scans, and partly analyzing the oscillations or 'brainwaves' measurable via EEG and a related technology called MEG. She is interested in the dynamic brain systems underlying working memory and also in environmental psychology.
