Jennifer Spinghart

Dr. Springhart is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Director of Community Engagement at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. She oversees Root Cause, a student-led organization that provides health fairs in underserved Greenville communities, supported by a $247,029 Healthy Greenville Grant. She also led the state’s first Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinic, which offers free medical, dental, and vision care annually. Her work bridges clinical care, public health, and medical education, and she collaborates closely with local nonprofits to increase access to healthcare and increase health literacy. Her research interests examine how community engagement can mitigate medical student burnout—linking health access and physician well-being.
