Jennifer Brodmann

I am an Associate Professor of Finance with experience in leadership roles within higher education and a solid research background in finance and economics. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as International Review of Economics and Finance, Journal of Financial Research, Accounting & Finance, Finance Research Letters, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance, Applied Economics, and Journal of Cleaner Production. I have also served as a reviewer for journals including Finance Research Letters, Accounting and Finance, International Journal of Managerial Finance, and Journal of Environmental Management. My research focuses on corporate and entrepreneurial finance, financial institutions and regulation, ESG and sustainable finance, and regional economic development.

In addition to my academic role, I serve as Vice President of Program and Board Member of the Southwestern Finance Association, Co-Director of the South Bay Economics Institute, and Co-Director of the THRIVE Program at California State University, Dominguez Hills, an initiative focused on career and skills development. I am also a Research Contributor for the Annual South Bay Economic Forecast Report, where I focus on entrepreneurial finance and regional economic development.

I have experience mentoring both master's and Ph.D. students on research projects. My teaching portfolio includes undergraduate and graduate courses in Corporate Finance, Entrepreneurial Finance, Personal Finance, Financial Institutions, Money and Banking, and Managerial Economics. I am committed to student-centered, applied learning and regularly guide research that bridges academic theory with real-world financial challenges.
