Jason Wang is a Postdoctoral Fellow and Executive Member at the Modern Literature and Culture Research Centre at Toronto Metropolitan University. His research examines how modernist and contemporary literature and media encode power, politics, and social values. His doctoral dissertation, "Urban Walking: Configuring the Modern City as Cultural and Spatial Practice," explored the aesthetics and politics of urban space in literature and culture from the early twentieth century to the post-industrial era. His current research focuses on the politics of aesthetics in cultural narratives, particularly in response to crises and upheavals such as war, political and economic turmoil, and the COVID-19 pandemic. He is the co-editor of Creative Resilience and COVID-19: Figuring the Everyday in a Pandemic (Routledge, 2022).
