Jason King is Beirne Chair & Director of the Center for Catholic Studies at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. He received his Ph.D. from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. His most recent research focuses the Holistic Impact Report (HIR) that explores the outcomes of Catholic higher education on life direction, community engagement, and ethical decision making. His book The Soul of Catholic Higher Education (Bloomsburg) will be published in 2026. His publications include Faith with Benefits: Hookup Culture on Catholic Campuses (Oxford University Press) and the coedited Sex, Love, and Families: Catholic Perspectives (Liturgical) with Julie Rubio which received the Catholic Media Association’s 2021 first place award & the Association of Catholic Press’ 2021 first place award. He has published in the Journal of Catholic Education, American Benedictine Review, Religious Education, New Blackfriars, Journal of Ecumenical Studies, and Horizons.
