- PhD Candidate, School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, The University of Melbourne
I am first year PhD student in the School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences department at the University of Melbourne. My PhD will focus on understanding historical climate variability and weather extremes in southern Australia using the country’s observational data network.
I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in 2021, majoring in Climate and Weather. Over the 2021-22 summer, I was awarded an ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes Undergraduate Scholarship, during which I developed key visualisation maps of historical droughts that impacted northern Victoria.
I went on to complete my Master of Science degree at the University of Melbourne in 2023, specialising in Atmospheric Science. During this time, I developed a long-term temperature record for Perth, enabling the analysis of historical trends and patterns in Perth’s heatwaves from 1830 to 2025.
Following this, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Australian National University, where I contributed to the development of a long-term pressure record for Perth (1830-2025), supporting the analysis of changing storm patterns in south-west Western Australia.
More recently, I worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Melbourne, where I continued advancing research on Perth’s historical heatwaves.
