Jamie Hugo Macdonald

(He/Him)

Jamie completed a PhD in clinical exercise physiology and is now a Professor of Sport and Exercise Science in the Institute for Applied Human Physiology at Bangor University (https://www.bangor.ac.uk/iahp). Jamie leads a program of applied research aiming to help more people to move more, more of the time. He is a founder member and Institution Lead of the Wales Institute of Physical Activity, Health and Sport and has an honorary contract with his local Health Board. Jamie’s favourite part of his role is collaborating with researchers and applied practitioners, on projects such as the generation of the Active Workplace Toolkit (soon to be published by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board) and the writing of guidelines on physical activity for the UK Kidney Association. When not working, Jamie can be found in the outdoors, often with his daughter in tow, desperately trying to climb, bike and ski as well as he did 20 years ago.
