- Lecturer in Atmospheric Radiation, Composition and Climate, University of Reading
I read Natural Sciences at Pembroke College, University of Cambridge before doing a PhD in Atmospheric Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge with Professor Alex Archibald. My PhD focused on improving the representation of the chemistry of biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) such as isoprene in chemistry-climate models and understanding their impact on climate.
After my PhD I did a postdoc with Dr Maria Val Martin at the University of Sheffield (2021-2024) looking at the indirect effects on carbon dioxide removal strategies on climate. This included looking at the effect of wide scale forestation, enhanced rock weathering and methane emissions from wetland restoration.
I am now a Lecturer (roughly equivalent to Assistant Professor) in the Department of Meteorology, University of Reading.
