James is Professor of Economics at the University of Birmingham, and previously taught at the universities of Leicester and Bristol. An applied economist, his substantive research interests are broadly in the areas of political economy and inequality with current work focussing on working-from-home, healthcare, and crime. He also enjoys interdisciplinary collaborations.
