I am a research scientist focused on understanding the toxicity of different types of air pollutants. I expose cells from the human lung grown in a dish to pollutants from different sources, and use a combination of biochemical techniques to study differences in toxicity. My research has mainly been on different types of vehicle emissions, with a drive to understand the currently unregulated 'non-exhaust emissions'.
