I am a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. My PhD was on the topic of cold-formed steel portal frames, supervised by Professor D.A. Nethercot. Before joining University of Waikato in 2022, I was faculty at University of Auckland (where as an Honorary Academic now, I continue to co-supervise PhD and ME students), University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, and Queen's University. I have supervised more than 30 PhD students to completion on topics related to cold-formed steel. At University of Waikato, I currently co-supervise around 30 PhD and ME students. I am a Principal Investigator in the Product Accelerator network (https://www.nzproductaccelerator.co.nz), and have been for the last six years.

Aside from structural engineering aspects of cold-formed steel, my research interests also include applications of BIM, sustainability, circular economy and fire to cold-formed steel structures.
