James is an Visiting Professor in Science Communication in the School of Biosciences at Aston University, UK and a broadcaster with a number of television companies. James's broadcasting includes work on BBC2's Trust Me I’m a Doctor where he is the programmes most used contributor, BBC1's The Truth About Fat, BBC1's The Truth About Healthy Eating, Channel 4's How to Lose Weight Well, BBC1's How To Stay Young BBC1's Holding Back The Years, ITV1's ITV Tonight: OAP Bootcamp, BBC1's The Truth About Obesity, Channel 5's Get A Holiday Body: Lose A Stone In 4 Weeks, BBC Midlands Today, and the BAFTA-nominated Channel 4 programme Old Peoples Home for 4 Year Olds.
James is also co-founder of the Uk charity ADHDadultUK, the evidence-based online ADHD magazine Focusmag.uk, and co-host of The ADHD Adults Podcast.
His research areas include adult ADHD, obesity, type 2 diabetes, breast cancer, frailty and ageing.
James is neurodivergent, having been diagnosed with ADHD in 2021.
