Jacqui Baker is a lecturer in Southeast Asian Politics at the Sir Walter Murdoch School for Public Policy and International Affairs and a Fellow at the Asia Research Centre at Murdoch University.
She was previously a Visiting Fellow in the Department for Political and Social Change at the Australian National University. Her research focuses on social and cultural anthropology, comparative government and politics, and politics of Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
She co-edits New Mandala, a website, hosted by the Australian National University (ANU) College of Asia and the Pacific, that provides analysis and anecdotes on Southeast Asia,.
