Dr. Yinjunjie Zhang (Jacquelyn) received her PhD in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University in 2018. She has been working as a Research Fellow at Curtin University since late 2025. Prior to joining Curtin University in 2025, she had been working in Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University since 2018 and held a Fellow position.
Her research lies at the intersection of applied microeconomics and behavioural economics, examining how economic incentives, constraints, and behavioural factors influence individual choices and broader socioeconomic outcomes. Her recent work investigates a wide array of applied topics, including the effects of climate change on health, fertility responses to conflict, labour market dynamics, gender-related outcomes such as domestic violence issues, and private health insurance decisions within universal healthcare systems.
She has developed a strong track record of scholarly publications in leading economic journals spanning labour economics, environmental economics, development economics, and experimental economics. Her work has been recognised with the 2024 Kuznets Prize and has attracted broad media attention.
