Jacqui graduated with a BVSc (Hons) from the University of Sydney. She completed a small animal medicine and surgery residency program and clinical Masters at the University of Melbourne before returning to the University of Sydney to complete a PhD on the aetiology of periodontal disease in domestic cats with the late Professor Daria Love while maintaining her clinical work as a veterinarian.
Research interests: Q fever and coxiellosis; Antimicrobial stewardship: Antimicrobial resistance in animals and humans; Infection control practices; Feline Infectious Peritonitis (epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis & treatment); Feline lmmunodeficiency virus (epidemiology, diagnosis and vaccine efficacy); Feline leukaemia virus (epidemiology, diagnosis and new anti-viral treatments); Feline calicivirus (novel treatments, diagnosis and infection control); Canine parvovirus (role of maternal antibody interference); Chronic feline kidney disease in domestic and zoo cats; Novel treatments and diagnostic techniques for veterinary viral diseases
