Dr Jacki Schirmer's research examines the social impacts of environmental change, focusing on how changes in management of natural resources such as forests, fisheries and agricultural land affect the health and wellbeing of the people and communities who depend on these resources. Her works ranges from exploring how addressing land degradation changes the lives of rural landholders and communities, through to examining the social consequences of social conflict over native forests in Tasmania.
