Israa Ameen Thiab

Israa Thiab is a circular economy expert and pollution prevention engineer at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she helps businesses and organizations across New York State design, measure and scale circular material systems. She also conducts research on extended producer responsibility policy and circular economy strategy to identify scalable solutions for waste diversion, material recovery and pollution prevention. She brings more than 15 years of experience bridging applied sustainability work and academic research across industrial sectors, including leadership roles in corporate and industrial sustainability and the delivery of internationally funded circular-economy programs.

Israa holds a Ph.D. in Sustainability from Golisano Institute for Sustainability at Rochester Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Environmental Management and Policy from Lund University in Sweden, and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Jordan.
